Committees
Burwash Parish Council has a number of Committees that have delegated authority from the Full Council for either a specific purpose or project. Committees are meetings of Councillors that run like a Full Council meeting, in that they have a fixed agenda that must be published 3 clear working days before the meeting and only Councillors are allowed to contribute, dependent on the subject, to the formal part of the meeting. All Committee for Burwash still allow public time at the beginning of the meeting. Committees must meet face-to-face. Burwash currently has the following Committees:
1). Planning Committee. Please click here for the terms of reference.
2). Finance & Administration Committee. Please note that this committee is not currently sitting and all finance is considered at Full Council.
3). HR Committee. Please click here for the terms of reference.
4). Community Build Steering Committee. Please click here for the terms of reference.
The Parish Council also operates a number of working groups, sometimes referred to as working parties. These are a more informal groups to work on a certain idea or project. All recommendations for these groups are delivered back to Full Council for decisions. Working Groups don’t tend to have any delegated authority and although Chaired by a Parish Councillor, allow residents and interested groups to work with Councillors on a project or idea. These meetings can be face-to-face or virtual. Burwash currently has the following Working Parties.
1). Environment & Maintenance Working Party. Please click here for the terms of reference.
2). Traffic & Transport Working Party. Please click here for the terms of reference.
